Washington, DC (October 1, 2018) – Venable LLP announced today that Craig A. Thompson, partner in the firm's Product Liability and Mass Torts practice, has been named a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers (ACTL), one of the premier legal associations in America.
At Venable, Mr. Thompson represents clients in both federal and state courts in the areas of commercial litigation, product liability, premises liability, and personal injury.
The ACTL is composed of preeminent members of the Trial Bar from the United States and Canada and is recognized as the leading trial lawyers organization in both countries. Fellowship in the College is limited to less than 1% of the total lawyer population of any state or province and is extended only by invitation, after careful investigation, to those experienced trial lawyers who have mastered the art of advocacy and whose professional careers have been marked by the highest standards of ethical conduct, professionalism, civility, and collegiality. Qualified lawyers are called to fellowship in the College from all branches of trial practice. They are selected from among advocates who represent plaintiffs or defendants in civil proceedings of all types, as well as prosecutors and criminal defense lawyers.
Mr. Thompson is the eighth attorney currently practicing at the firm to be honored by the prestigious organization. Other Venable attorneys who have previously been named American College of Trial Lawyers fellows include former U.S. Attorney General Benjamin R. Civiletti, past Venable chairman James L. Shea, William D. Coston, Bruce R. Parker, Paul F. Strain, Kurt J. Fischer, Brian L. Schwalb, and Kenneth L. Thompson.
